Training ground nutmeg comp. from r/coys
It was Harry Winks that made this startling admission after losing in a shootout to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, “We don’t really work on penalties. It’s like the manager said, sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t.”
There’s rumour doing the rounds that if you get nutmegged three times in one game, then you have to sing in the dressing room afterwards.
Nobody’s suggesting the lads should have fun, but one would have though that perhaps a game based upon something that might influence the outcome of an actual game might be more useful.
David Bentley kicked a ball in a skip once – look where that got him.
See Levy has low-balled Eriksen with 110K a week offer and that was his 3rd bid! (if we believe the article)…joy..
This is why even if we had 100m to spend we will still buy hopefuls as they are cheap….Isco for example would probably want 200k…
We’re only a serious business in the boardroom.
A decent Eriksen corner would be nice.
You would hope that the serious business would have been off camera but not practicing penalties is a nonsense.
Even hardened pros have talked about soiling their pants on the first tee at a Ryder cup, with one superstar saying he was so nervous he could hardly tee up his ball for the shakes. But what they all seem to have in common is that they all trusted the thousands of tee shots they had hit before to allow them to go ahead and smack the cover off it (maybe a touch left or right in some cases). It’s all about routine, which if you stick to will allow some semblance of subconcious control under stressful situations, so you can’t tell me that parcticing pens wouldn’t help. Even that little game on video that they are play8ng helps them with peripheral awareness and allows them ping the ball around under a stressful match situation.
I like to see them practice beating really good sides.
I think that’s classic Spurs fancy dan stuff, practising nutmegs, love it.
They should also work on more, uh, prosaic areas like penalties though.
Corners also.
And direct free kicks.

Actually, where did it get him.
Nutmegs not Pens or corners?? WTF.
No wonder Tin Tin hasn’t scored a free since 2015. Practice being fit oh great.
