Jose Mourinho has played down the need for Tottenham to spend big this summer in order to catch up with the Premier League’s leading clubs.
Spurs could considerably finish 50 points adrift of the title pace and our hopes of strengthening the squad appear to be restricted by a combination of stadium debts, Covid-19 and a lack of Champions League football.
But Mourinho has insisted “we don’t need huge investment” to improve the squad and is comfortable with Daniel Levy’s plans for us in the market.

He’ll be happy until he’s told he can’t have Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg because Southampton want £20m and Levy has offered Spurs Shop gift vouchers.
