It has been over three months since our last Premier League game but Jose Mourinho hasn’t changed his tune.
Despite having Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn back, the Portuguese claimed during his pre-match interview with Sky Sports that “we don’t have many options”.
I could obviously understand this narrative before lockdown, but Jose has been back two minutes and is already making the same excuse, and looking enviously across at Manchester United’s bench as though it had Messi and Ronaldo on it, not Ighalo and Greenwood.
Yes it was frustrating to lose Dele Alli to suspension. Yes it is disappointing that Giovani Lo Celso’s not fit, nor Lucas Moura seemingly. But this is our first game in three months. Where’s the positivity?
