“We can’t use that as an excuse” Dele Alli Refuses To Hide In Post-Match Interview [video]

Tottenham star Dele Alli has issued an apology to the club’s fans who traveled out for their clash with RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.

Spurs fell to a 3-0 defeat in the second leg of their round-of-16 Champions League tie against the Bundesliga outfit, and crashed out of the competition as a result.

With a battle ahead to secure a seat at Europe’s top table through their Premier League standing, there was major disappointment for Alli as their run in Europe this season ended in Germany.

As seen in his post-match interview with BT Sport below, the 23-year-old was visibly gutted by the result and performance, and he apologized to the traveling supporters as he insisted that they “deserve better”.

The England international went on to question the mentality of his side as a whole in the loss but has called upon the squad to regroup and fight between now and the end of the season to salvage something.

It doesn’t get any easier for José Mourinho and his injury-hit side though, as an in-form Manchester United will visit north London on Sunday evening looking to open up a clear gap between the two sides and solidify their place in the fifth spot.

However, as stressed by Alli below, although he conceded that confidence is low within the group, he reiterated the need for Tottenham to respond in a positive manner at the weekend.
