We’re living in troubling times for those reporting on football. As I’ve suggested previously, if Brian Glanville was asked to produce thousands of click enticing words each week, he too would have been lost in a morass of ‘fan engaging content’ that didn’t stand up to much scrutiny.

The Reddit forum has produced some extraordinary fan posts in recent days, which make me genuinely fear for the species. Speaking of which, I bought some shoes a few months back, and they appear to be losing their shine. Do any readers have any thoughts on what I might do?
