Watch your Daily Briefing| Feat. Reddit COYS posts, Poch & Man Utd, and why Kane won’t join Man City

By The Boy -

We’re living in troubling times for those reporting on football. As I’ve suggested previously, if Brian Glanville was asked to produce thousands of click enticing words each week, he too would have been lost in a morass of ‘fan engaging content’ that didn’t stand up to much scrutiny.

The Reddit forum has produced some extraordinary fan posts in recent days, which make me genuinely fear for the species. Speaking of which, I bought some shoes a few months back, and they appear to be losing their shine. Do any readers have any thoughts on what I might do?

Yep, essential read for any football fan, let alone a Spurs fan. Written a long time ago and the game has changed no end (like the world). However, some of the subjects and themes are still relevant today, the inner workings of a football club and basically the human aspect of a group of individuals and all the human aspects. Great book, a classic of its genre.

I’d be very surprised if either Harry or Eriksen ever sign another contract with Levy’s name on it no matter what amount.

I’ll get my “Brentford double chance” bet on now then. Probably good odds as the bookies still think Spurs are a top 6 club.

Funny really, we’re all obsessed about getting top 4 like it’s a trophy. If we fail it might actually encourage Levy to spend some money, whereas if we do he might think there’s no need as we did it anyway.
Trouble is Conte might want CL football and so might Harry.

Agreed. I’m feeling much less optimistic now. Mind you, Eriksen is rumoured to be wanting to join us in the summer. If he wants CL football next season maybe he won’t try Saturday 😂

No. Remember if there’s a way to balls it up, then ENIC FC will find it.

Hardly, with a trophy every season for like 17 years or whatever.

Infuriating. I despise that club. Mind you, that’s 8 goals they’ve conceded in their last 2 home games. Something’s not quite right there.

What a bunch of useless T&ssers Chelsea have been today. Is there a Chelski equivalent for Spursy?

We’ve gotta beat Brentford away on Saturday. That won’t be easy at all.

We set out to bore Brighton to death and it didn’t work.

Arse want it more than us, simple as that. They should have won at S-hampton too.

We can’t fail to get top 4 – we’re the team that play the wing back system without any decent wing backs lol.

Doing everything they can to help Ar5e finish above us, as are our players from the looks of the Brighton performance.

I’m convinced Chelsea are throwing the game.

With The Gooners winning at Chelsea, and at home to Manure on Sat, we will be going to Brentford in 5th place. The Brighton Shambles has been our Spanner in the Works. It’s what we do.

Mind you they may not have the stars but they look a more balanced team than us at the moment.

It’s like Chelsea are throwing the game to spite us. I hate that club. When we need them to win, they play poorly! And we did them a big favour at the end of last season.

This Chelsea game is a joke ,most of the goals have been a shambles.

I think Kane will decide his future based on Levy’s ambition in the upcoming summer transfer window, as will Conte. Lets see if he’s really a Spurs fan as he says he is, or merely a money collector for enic.

I was greatly tickled that you mentioned Brian Glanville today to whom I was vaguely related. He used to run a football club called the Chelsea Casuals who generally played on Saturday mornings whom he captained and for whom he played left back and I occasionally played for him. As someone who wrote about the beautiful game for the Sunday Times for thirty years and was a leading expert on Italian football when it was a much more interesting kettle of fish than it is now, he was without doubt one of the dirtiest players I ever had the pleasure of or not, of playing with and kicked anybody he could get remotely close to. This always amused me as he wrote wonderful articles on football and also released over twenty novels, including Goalkeepers Are Different to critical acclaim I believe he is still alive at the grand old age of ninety. Sadly, he is a long time Arsenal fan but I cannot imagine what he thinks about modern day football as he was always extremely outspoken and self opinionated but nevertheless brilliant and entertaining with a deep passion for the game.

I followed Ossie after the world cup to Spurs. I saw myself in him back then. Never knew I was going grow to be 5’11″and become keeper. But stranger things has happened.
