Tottenham forward Heung-min Son is determined to make a strong comeback this season after a challenging previous year. In a recent interview, he revealed that he is now pain-free and eager to perform at his best.
Son’s performance in the previous season fell short of his own standards, as he scored 14 goals in 47 appearances. He acknowledged that there were various factors, including injury issues, that prevented him from delivering his optimal performances.
However, he is resolute in his determination to regain his sharpness and explosiveness on the pitch this upcoming season.
Speaking about handling criticism, Son emphasised that he has been in professional football for 15 years and is accustomed to the ups and downs that come with it. He remains focused on self-improvement and is confident in his abilities.
He said:
“As a football player you always get criticism. I’m playing professionally now for 15 years. I started at 17 and now I am turning 31. So I mean the criticism does not bother me at all because I am always being honest with my self. I know i can do much much better. Last year for many different reasons i could not perform but look this season i am looking forward to be really really sharp and to be explosive like i used to be before. I am pain free now.”
“Pain free… I’m looking forward to being sharp and EXPLOSIVE!” 💥
