Watch: New Eric Dier footage breaks Tottenham fans’ hearts – they can’t help but feel sorry for him

A new footage of Eric Dier has broken the hearts of Tottenham fans who can’t help but feel sorry for the defender.

As the international break came to a conclusion, Tottenham players returned to the training ground ahead of the Premier League game against Fulham on Monday.

The players returning to the ground was being filmed by the social media team.

When Eric Dier walked in the door, he greeted the cameraman but looked very dejected as he told him that he does not need to film him as they are not going to use his footage anyways.

He said: “You don’t have to film me. I know you’re not gonna use it.”

The cameraman responded very sympathetically: “Come on man, we’ll get you in.”

Eric Dier has not played a single minute for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season, and has only made the bench in three of Spurs’ nine matches.

He was linked with a move away in the summer but no deal was agreed.

Spurs rejected a late bid from Burnley as well who were interested in signing him.

The treatment of the veteran is indeed difficult to see but Ange has set a very high standard.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have become the starting duo at the back and have been excellent forming a very strong partnership in the heart of the defense for Spurs.

Spurs are short in depth and an unfortunate injury in the defense could give Dier an opportunity.

However, with his contract expiring next summer, it is possible that he will be sold in January.

AS Roma have recently shown an interest in securing his services in the upcoming transfer window with Jose Mourinho said to be keen on signing him.

Spurs too would prefer to get a deal done in January otherwise they will end up losing him on a free in the summer.

TBH says:

It is difficult to see Dier who has been a dedicated servant to the club be completely sidelined like this.

However, keeping emotions aside, he was not at his best last season and his form has only declined.

With Micky van de Ven and Romero performing the way they are, it is completely understandable why Ange has no time for Dier.
