Gareth Bale teed up a possible Tottenham Hotspur return last week when he praised the appointment of Jose Mourinho.
“Having Mourinho there is an amazing statement from the club, I think he is a serial winner,” Bale told BT Sport. “If Tottenham want to win trophies then I don’t think there is a better partnership.”
After last night’s 2-1 defeat to former club Manchester United, Mourinho was asked about Bale coming back to North London.

When the inevitable follow-up question came, Mourinho replied: “Come on, I don’t need to answer.”
That reponse could be interpreted one of two ways:
a) “Come on, I don’t need to answer” (because of course I’d want Bale back at Tottenham, who wouldn’t?)
b) “Come on, I don’t need to answer” (because we both know there is no chance of this happening)
Despite last night’s disappointment, I’m trying to approach the Mourinho reign with total positivity, so I’m going to go for A.
Bale needs rescuing from Real Madrid and there is clearly mutual admiration between the pair. It *could* happen, maybe?
Yup, bale to spuds could definitely happen. And I’m definitely thinking of maybe buying the crown jewels.
The answer regarding Bale is surely both, but the question is as stale as last nights performance.

This should have been the season where our team had matured and would spank Chelsea.
So much for that.
I wonder if when Mourinho said he wanted to do a Poch what he meant was that he hopes he can stay for ages without having to win anything? No pressure, big wages and still in the limelight?
Or should we just wait for next season?
