And 20 minutes later, 22-year-old Pape Matar Sarr scored a stunner from 20-yards-out to make it 2-0.
Savinho too much to handle for Destiny Udogie
Spurs did suffer a major setback with Micky van de Ven suffering a hamstring injury, which saw him being replaced by Destiny Udogie.
And the Italian defender was partly at fault for Manchester City’s goal right at the death of half-time.
Savinho showed incredible footwork to get past Udogie with ease before floating in a cross towards the backpost where Nunes was left unmarked as he finished it past the keeper expertly.
