Watch: Incredible scenes as Conte and Tuchel clash at full time; both get sent off

By Mehdi Gokal -

Chelsea and Tottenham played out a tense 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Chelsea took the lead in the first half when Koulibaly volleyed home at the back post from a corner, with the Blues outplaying the Lilywhites for the entire first 45 minutes.

Spurs put up a better fight in the second half after switching to a 4-4-2 formation and bringing on Richarlison. Soon after, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg equalised, despite Chelsea’s displeasure about a potential foul by Rodrigo Bentacur on Kai Havertz in the buildup.

And when Conte celebrated in front of the Chelsea bench, both the managers clashed on the sidelines, a scene that was repeated at full-time.

Tuchel refused to let Conte’s hand go during their handshake because the Spurs manager was not looking him in the eyes, resulting in a mass brawl. Both of them had to be separated away and were shown red cards.

That late equaliser was a sickener for Chelsea and I was delighted, delighted to hear Reese James whinging and feeling hard done by that Spurs and the referee didn’t do the usual rolling over and giving Chelsea their usual three points. More please Conte and Spurs. I also thought Tuchel down played the spats with Conte in interviews. Though he still whinged on about the referee as usual.

Facts are for most of the match they were better . Has to be said they were playing ‘last years ‘ team , practically every thing they already kinew of us . and some players underperformed , Sonny in particular who does seem to go ‘missing’ when physically confronted . Sess looked inferior to Perisic in every way , no sign of total commitment and Pierre seemed completely overwhelmed , it was all going on around him .
The substitutions were necessary and proved key . Richarlison brought that energy and more power , Bissouma did enough to suggest we have ‘a player ‘ on our hands .
Peresic gave some ‘gravity ‘ to our play , Ifeel is a certain starter next time and you could feel the weight of expectation lift from Harry’s shoulders when that goal went in .
We should feel very happy with the point and the fact that our sequence of losses against them is done . W will improve from this , no doubt , and I feel the players at Spurs will be the overall winners from this match , which was unbelievably compelling throughout .
Were you , like me , always thinking we would ‘get something’ from this game , I enjoyed it immensely………………………. C O Y S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn’t agree more with that! Playing that bad and getting a last-minute controversial equalizer makes it even sweeter. Bitter Chavs everywhere.

Tuchel really enjoyed dishing it out today, great to see he couldn’t take it back. All in all a terrible performance by Spurs, makes it even better to end up with a point. That’s 4 more than we had from the same 2 fixtures last season.
