Brennan Johnson has equalised for Tottenham just 4 minutes into the second half from a superb Heung-min Son assist.

Aston Villa took the lead in the first half when a corner from Lucas Digne was flicked on towards his own goal by Pedro Porro and eventually slotted in by Morgan Rogers on the rebound.

Spurs looked really threatening in the second half and got their goal immediately.

It is a fantastic pass from Heung-min Son from the left. The South Korean put in a delicious cross and Brennan Johnson beats team-mate Dominic Solanke to the ball to side-foot it past Emiliano Martinez from close range.

Heung-min Son was not happy with the early substitution

Surprisingly, after just 5 minutes of his contribution to the goal, Son was subbed off by manager Ange Postecoglou, with Richarlison coming on in place of him.

The substation left Son surprised and frustrated. He was visibly upset by his manager’s decision to take him off and was seen expressing his annoyance on the bench.

However, while the decision was a bold one given the scoreline at that time, it was an understandable one given Son’s recent injury concerns.

The South Korean has missed quite a few games through injuries already. He initially sustained a hamstring injury during their Europa League clash against Qarabag FC, which saw him miss almost one month of action and 5 games.

He made a scoring return from injury against West Ham during their 4-1 win. The Spurs captain had a great game and was involved in two of the four goals they scored against the Hammers.

However, he suffered a thigh problem after the game which saw him miss matches against AZ Alkmaar, Crystal Palace and Manchester City.

Considering his current fitness issues, it makes sense why the Tottenham manager decided to take him off early in the game.
