Watch Conte: No Sessegnon, no Romero, and Premier League’s COVID meeting was a waste of time

No real surprises from the gaffer here, as we learned that Cuti Romero continues his recovery, as does Ryan Sessegnon. What was interesting to see, did Conte speak candidly about a Premier League meeting that had been held with the clubs, in respect of strategies for coping with future outbreaks of the Covid pandemic.

A cynic might suggest that anything that threatens the revenue streams of the game is viewed as the true threat, and plans to postpone any games would be viewed as very loose talk.

Yes it’s remarkable what Conte has achieved already, he’s even got the ex MK Gangsta playing which I thought was beyond anyone. Respect. What will he have achieved by this time next year with some reinforcements?

Japhet probably crosses as well as those two, and he’s meant to be a central defender by trade.

Sure, some of them might be a bit bunged up and flu like to be 100%, that’s about it.

What! Don’t cancel the circus, it’s one of the few things entertaining me through self isolation which doesn’t finish until the 28th at least. Well, that and the 3rd season of Succession.

I’m fine, very mild symptoms, thanks for asking.

They would play if fit in a flu outbreak, Omnipresent presents as pretty much no worse than a cold. Which is what the South Africans said, but of course Bozzer thought he’d sh*t everyone up and roll out the booster to the non vulnerable regardless. Got a lot of bad press to bury, poor guy…

Yep. None of these players are ill. Couple might have a cold. It’s all for effect.

There’s only a handfull of boxing day games on in the whole of England thanks to the polymerase circus. Just cancel the season, it’s impossible to function in these circumstances. But they won’t though will they…. they’ll just shut the gates again. …and people thought if….nevermind.

Seems like donkeys ago but those were dark days. I’m still in disbelief at how much Conte has improved the team in such a short time.

That’s the point I was making, but not very well. The whole testing programme is flawed as has been stated by the inventor of PCR testing. It’s not fit fir purpose.

The game v Palace was odd. We stank the place out but the sending off changed it from a possible draw to a complete mess. Coupled with the Arsenal game these were dark days indeed.

Christie Brown was better at crossing than Emerson and Doherty……..with his right foot too!

It will be interesting to compare how we look against Palace vs how we looked (terrible) a few weeks ago under Nuno. Palace are probably the best of the next 3 opponents so I suspect we’ll see a strong team Sun then heavy rotation the next 2 games to get ready for Chelsea.

It’s the testing in alot of player not symptoms which is flagging cases

Games are been/being postponed,
That has been the point when hit with covid.
We’ve had a two week break and the majority of clubs have had a break because of the covid situation, plus clubs in Europe have played less games.
Whilst the 2 day game for matches isn’t ideal (I’ll give the game is physically more intense due to players being better ‘athletes’ than ever before) with too many games postponed you’re only potentially kicking this can down the road.
Clubs need to work their squads, that separates the better mangers as well.

What a joke. The only player that could actually cross a ball from the right in 10 years was Tripper and he had one bad Season and the fans boo him out of town. Walker could and still don’t cross a ball waist height. Aurier for all is headaches could and found himself more than any other in the box. Someone on here, laugh if you want to, told me, Royal was up there with Danny, yes that Brazilian. Royal will come around but if wingers who are suppose to be able to cross balls and we do not have one,why would I be knocking the wingback? Maybe am stuck in another era where wingers own the flank dropping dimes in the box. If ever there was one a manager would find a way to turn him into an attacking wingback.

I’d like to see the RB problem sorted too, we’ve come nowhere near replacing Walker. Shame Aurier was so headstrong and impetuous, only he was better than Emerson and Doherty at crossing and also got a few goals.

Another game off Sunday. Is it a case of positive tests means isolation? They may not have any symptoms,so you’re stopping them from playing with at worst the sniffles..If covid is as bad as they are saying, the players are making remarkable recoveries. The whole situation is ludicrous.

He would be a great addition, not sure he would want to battle Reggi for the LB slot though. It’s a RB/RWB that we need who can cross a ball properly.

The people with the power are the players. When they object the Premier League will listen.

Off topic time for the players and clubs to tell Arsenal Wenger and THIEFA where they can stick their biannual World Cup Finals.

Heard somewhere that the South American Countries are thinking of joining the European Nations League as they have had enough of FIFA.
