The football press spent the last few days having a rare old time making light of Tottenham’s current fate, so it was no surprise when a reporter asked if Ange had seen the ‘foundations’ of what he was seeking to do.
This was an ambitious take at best, and the Aussie deftly swiped the suggestion away.
Angered by the mood surrounding the club, this was not the moment to pander to any coach who had been beaten by several rivals amid a general, broader drop-off in form.
What was Ange going to say, that eventually beating relegation fodder Burnley had given him a fuzzy feeling inside?
