Walker-Peters Tipped For Crystal Palace Loan

Martin Lipton has exceptional connections at Tottenham Hotspur, and in today’s piece for The Sun, Martin drops into the conversation that Kyle Walker-Peters is available for a loan, and that Crystal Palace are in pole position.

In the grander scheme of things, this is perhaps not earth-shattering news, the boy appears to have underwhelmed Pochettino. However, against the fraught backdrop of football club struggling with an identity crisis, this looks to be another ‘man overboard’ situation.

Walker-Peters has turned in some decent performances for Spurs, and might feel that a loan move is unkind. Especially when one factors in Mauricio’s wholesale inability to fill Kyle Walker’s berth – which became vacant back in July 2017.

The Harry Hotspur blog has been banging on about poor succession management with players at Spurs for over a decade now, and this is another shining example.

Tripper – not a wing back. Aurier – does not mix well with others. Walker-Peters – was previously linked with a loan to Southampton, in August 2019.

This leaves Juan Foyth, arriving to the sound of trumpeters, with smiling children scattering rose petals before his feet.

Spurs are in a right old pickle and this loan, were it to pan out, does nothing to improve matters.
