According to the Daily Mail’s Jonathan Strange, Premier League referee Michael Oliver’s stats for awarding penalties against José Mourinho indicate that the Portuguese’s sides significantly attract more penalties than any other Premier League side.
Specifically, Oliver has given an average of one spot-kick every 3.5 games against Mourinho’s sides.
Ref John Moss points to the fateful white spot against a Mourinho team every 6.6 matches. Mike Dean on average, takes 7.25 games to award a penalty kick against a José side. Subconscious bias or just the luck of the draw?
These fans aren’t interested in any of this and just don’t like Mourinho.
Lamela went from hero to villian though didn’t he. Nice goal, but then he was foolish, being on a yellow he knew what he was doing he had a look before……. Lucas Moura was easily our man of the match.
Doesn’t change the fact, apart from Lamela’s moment of inspiration, we were utterly sh*te… 🤔
Does any of this change the fact that Arsenal were by far the better team on the day and fully deserved to win and we didn’t?
Thought Jose would at the very least get them rocking for that game, especially after getting a few wins under our belt. Not good enough, no consistency when he’s supposed to be this genius.
I’ve got one word ‘Doherty’ to prove that any genius was totally absent… 🤔
He was my favourite ref until yesterday. Usually eagle eyed and makes tough correct decisions.. It was never a penalty. The ball was long gone.
I have often thought Oliver is biased..
