Video: Pundit Has VAR Conspiracy Theory Which Saved Spurs vs Watford

What is it about Tottenham Hotspur and VAR?

There was another chaotic episode starring Spurs and the Premier League’s video referee during this afternoon’s 1-1 draw with Watford.

Dele Alli’s 86th-minute equaliser was subject to a review for handball, as Watford argued that he controlled the ball with his bicep before knocking it into a net vacated by culpable goalkeeper Ben Foster.

Referee Chris Kavanagh pointed to the centre spot to award the goal, but the big screen displayed ‘No Goal’ on the VAR graphic.

Cue major confusion inside Daniel Levy’s Tottenham mansion.

Now how’s this for a conspiracy?

beIN Sports pundit Richard Keys reckons that Kavanagh misheard the verdict from Stockley Park – that the goal in fact should not have stood – and was then too embarrassed to correct his mistake.

I’d say ‘no chance’, but with the way VAR has been applied so far, you never know.
