The Video Preview: Spurs vs West Ham

By The Boy -

This is one of the biggest games of the season for those of us overflowing with contempt for a London rival that has continuously embarrassed itself with anti-Semitic behaviour, since I was a boy. I’m glad I experienced the blunt nastiness of an unwelcome element in this club’s support first hand, it helped me understand just how irrational race hate truly is. Little surprise that the fine Jews who fled turmoil Europe and came to the East End of London, travelled up the Lane to watch Spurs, opposed to walk up to the much nearer Upton Park.

This is a great little tape to get you in the mood. Enjoy, bubbelahs!

Not under a club contract means he wasn’t affiliated to the FA (not just the English but any world FA under FIFA) so would’ve been ineligible to take part.

Rumours state Bale is starting on the right. Didn’t work with ‘Arry doing the same with Aaron on the left to confuse the opposition. Oh well, season over, 2nd tier next season. Where did it all go wrong, it all seemed so promising. Put that bone away irons, just kidding! At least 3-1 Spurs! COYS!

Leeds. “We’re all white we’re all white we’re all white. I thought they were singing about their kit back in the late 70s. When they started throwing darts that’s when my dad stopped going Leeds games

Bobby Moore WAS going to sign for THFC directly after the ’66 WC.
His contract at WHU had already run out but that left him ineligible to play at the world cup so Sir Alf Ramsey & Ron Greenwood had to persuade him to sign a new contract, (wasn’t that they refused to sell) & his move to THFC never materialised.

Transfers between the two clubs have never been an issue in the same way as Woolwich, and more recently Cheatski. Hoddle went to Chavs as player/manager remember just before Ken Bates went mad spending and sent then skint before the Russian Mob saved them…

The irony being of course that they now have a Jewish chairman! From Bethnal Green and Hackney Downs one was able to take the train up to WHL with relative ease rather than run the gauntlet with the local thugs.

Wasn’t that long ago however that a section Woolwich’s fan base would also partake in some unsavoury antics. Don’t even get me started on Chavski…

We got one of our greats from them Martin Peters and I read in a Bill Nicholson memoir that he tried to sign Bobby Moore but like most clubs in the early sixties they didn’t want to strengthen a rival so they refused to sell.

We took our Jewish brothers in. Got them away from those racist pigs. My dad hated west ham with a passion. Never took me to many of them games. God knows how Clyde best put up with it all.
