Video – “Players are going to start hating him” Former Chelsea star gives Mourinho warning

By Bruce Grove -

Frank Leboeuf has warned Jose Mourinho that his Tottenham players will start hating him if he continues to criticise them publicly.

The Portuguese manager was critical of his stars after their 2-2 draw against Newcastle United and it wasn’t the first time.

Managers like Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp usually take the blame when their players perform poorly.

But Mourinho always shifts the blame to the players themselves.

It is a habit that cost him the dressing room at previous teams and Leboeuf believes he will soon lose the Spurs one as well.

So Klopp doesn’t criticise his players??
He subbed Keita off after 41 minutes in last night’s CL tie at Real Madrid, saying afterwards “he was not good in the game”.
Klopp insisted that TAA’s mistake for the second goal was the result of all the team playing badly.
So Klopp gets away with saying the whole team played badly, and levels direct criticism at one player. But no complaints from the media that he is “digging out players” and “not accepting responsibity”.
Personally I think Klopp was right, as is Mourinho when he identifies poor performances.

To me, Jose is our leader. Any manager of Spurs is our leader.

I want the players Jose wants at the club, he knows the right sorts.

Lets not be the club that Jose doesn’t win anything, it says more about us than Jose.

In hindsight THFC & The JM Show were probably not a match made in heaven.

Jose didn’t often criticise his players in his heyday because they won. They were expensively assembled quality players with the best mentality of the day to fit his methods.

He’s doing it now to deflect the heat from himself, once you start doing that the writing is on the wall. He’s a dinosaur and he’s blaming the players, while raking in 15m a year, a wage I suspect agreed on the basis that he got more out of this team than he’s currently doing.

A bit late for that one. Back in the day Levy agreed to pay his buyout clause, before he went to City, but fell out over additional payments. I suspect he turned to Louis Saha as an alternative.

Good point I did not look in that angle but still these punch can act they are world beaters as well, the likes of Dele and Dier crosses the mind If you ask me I say Mourinho should be Mourinho he shouldn’t be shy of his duties by accommodating media and critics he should do what his gut feelings tell him to be successful in Spurs and make him win, at the same time make history I think that will make him and the club great.

Have read that Sergio Aguero would be interested in a Spurs move this summer, well it cheered me up for a minute or so.

Well Mr Leboeuf in case you haven’t noticed it the players at the clubs you mentioned Liverpool and Arsenal have actually won things and might have a case, unlike most at Tottenham who have won nothing. When they win something for Spurs I’ll listen to their whinging.
