Video Evidence: Skipp’s Best Actions Against Forest …Plus A Word Of Caution

Oliver Skipp has undoubtedly brought maturity and some sense of flow to this Norwich City Side, and last night the Championship leaders went further ahead with another win over Nottingham Forest with a 2-0 win. The only note of caution I would attach to all this success is that this division is not the Premier League and there are far too many balls Ollie is playing and ‘getting away with’ that could well be snaffled up by superior opposition.

I’m a Skipp fan, and he looks 3 times the player Harry Winks is, but despite our need for better, fresher players, my head rules my heart, and it would make more sense for City to win promotion and let the boy continue his development at Carrow Road. This may make some of you recoil, but at the risk of bucking against the Tottenham trend of jobs being only seen halfway through, I’d like Oliver Skipp to become a great player for us, opposed to an occasionally good one because his education wasn’t completed.

My suspicion is that Ryan Mason was, before injury took him, on his way to being a better player than Skip will be. Skip looks OK, all the best to him, but I don’t see anything like a PL top 4 or CL last 16 player there. As with all the young guns who eventually were found to have damp powder.

Ha ha, I have a mate who refuses swine too.. I love quality danish bacon though man. The smell, the meatiness, the crunch, the grease. Has to be included in a fry up. 🐷

And it’s probably what will happen anyway, due to limited transfer funds

I was thinking about this very thing a few days ago. Leaving him with Norwich for a season in the prem would be a good move on several levels. Firstly, if he’s going to get found out, do it playing for them, not us. Also, would he really get into our starting 11 on a regular basis? Maybe, but probably not, so a continued run with Norwich, again, makes sense. And, a season fighting for survival might be just the thing to take him from talented prospect, to battle-hardened professional. Of course, that last point also highlights the psychological risks that a relegation pose for a young player, moving forward. On balance though, I think it would be a sound move all round.

I told many that boy would make it. I first saw him at the lamex when he was 16. Could see instantly he could play. Vs Liverpool reserves he had Daniel sturidge in his pocket.

Marbella spur. “Worship the cult of José? He’s our current manager who has won the lot. Those who don’t appreciate this fact are not very clever.

Well said.. Skipp the champion.. A championship champion is still invaluable experience for the lad.. Would be interesting next season to see how Skipp copes with Norwich in the prem.. They will struggle. Skippy will have his work cut out.
