Video autopsy|Chelsea’s first goal against Spurs

This was a horrible goal on several levels. Beyond the pressure forced own goal, we witnessed poor judgment from Japhet Tanganga with the ill-conceived, and inaccurate pass to Emerson Royal.

Worse yet, given the poor pass from Japhet, one might have hoped that he would have been far more responsive in the immediate aftermath. Instead, the 22-year-old was, in my view, then quite easily jostled off the ball.

Verdict

If one is able to pass comments on a game, based upon more than just the one game itself, and not be deemed reactionary… I’d say Japhet Tanganga needs a rethink. We’ve witnessed some daft aggression, and now we have actions that fall short of the required standard.

I haven’t disputed whether you said Tanganga’s ball was a poor one, so that was a point you didn’t need to make. I have disputed whether Emerson was to blame. To me, Emerson was heading back into a position on the touchline to give Tanganga an angle for the pass; so he was aware. If Tanganga had hit the pass to the touchline in front of Emerson, there would probably have been no problem. If Emerson had been heading towards the area Tanganga hit the ball to, I’d have said he was more to blame for not giving Tanganga a safe passing option.

Nobody else were sniffing, that says enough.

The pass from Tanganga was poor in execution and he should have realised it was not on, the simple ball was back to Lloris, that was inexperience, the second was simply poor defending from him alone.
It is questionable what Royal is bringing to his position, but it is the responsibility of Paratici and his colleagues who choose suitable candidates for the club to be certain of them.
I would ask why we chose someone with no EPL experience to decide which players are right for this club, so far things don’t look particularly encouraging for what we have seen from them so far.

I’ve said Tanganga’s ball was a poor one. These aren’t u12’s playing. Emerson was totally unaware of what’s around him. Alonso read that pass, Emerson didn’t. Emerson made no allowance and like I say with his back to play was totally unaware of Alonso coming in to intercept the pass.

Staggering when you think about it isn’t it? Without due diligence, 100% hit and hope I’m afraid…

Not fair on Emerson in my view. He was running back to give Tanganga an angle and instead of hitting a safer ball to the touchline, Tanganga hit a short ball inside, putting Emerson on the wrong foot and providing something Alonso could intercept.

I wouldn’t call Tangy or Lo Celso hit and hope punts, particularly at the price paid for Tangy. Bad choices maybe, but a hit and hope punt as your record signing?

In my mind we’ve got 5 players who are up to the job in a serious premiere league team. Messers Kane, Son, Skipp, Hojbjerg, and – purely on his effort going forward – Lucas. The entire remainder of this squad are Fiats and Citroens. The 5 working parts of this motor aren’t firing because the rest of the engine is f*cked. The re-structuring job required to replace the faulty parts is now nigh on impossible economically because of chronic owner neglect.

I’ve just realised why Emerson isn’t improving us. Because he’s yet another 22 year old punt, untried in the Premiership. Tangy, LoCelso, Rodon, Tanganga (academy product) Sessingnon, Stevie B. None of them have improved us because they’re all hit and hope punts.

Looks like with Royal that Paratici is quite happy to tow Levy’s line. Paratici is mainly window dressing, with the same substandard products on display.

No change, just shuffling the pack yet again by Levy in the hope that the fans will interpret it as being progressive and ambitious. Trying to buy time until the Super League gets pushed through. Levy hates football…

He takes us for mugs.

There is an alternative school of thought though. If the club were ambitious and continued to prioritize the football operation and brought in players to improve the team, existing players would continue to improve, knowing their places were under threat as per any quality sports team in the world. Levy has made himself famous for failing to bring in one player in two consecutive windows. Not excusing the players in any way but it’s unsurprising to see the majority picking up cash with no interest in trophies when that message comes loud and clear from the ownership.

You need Top 4 players if you intend to get into Top 4. Too many are error strewn that wouldn’t be acceptable at any level. Try doing that on a Sunday morning game and see what reception you get in the Dog & Duck afterwards. Spurs have their own special catalogue of bizarre own goals that would be world beating.

Two assists to the wrong team and a sending off in a dozen appearances this season doesn’t instill confidence. He could do with a loan to like a Norwich or a Championship side, get some games in and see how he fares.

Tanganga’s pass was a hospital ball. But ! Emerson also shoulders some responsibility, clearly ball watching and completely unaware of players around him.

The whole team are a catalog of skool boy errors atm.

Not good enough at the moment. Needs a loan move. Panics if he is pressed which is worrying as pressing is dominating football now.

As I’m getting older In my over 40 years supporting the team the idea of standing behind them lately I find myself more and more often asking the same question: Why?
Because of the owner and director?
Because of the players?
Because of the unknown future where I won’t probably exist?
They are basically laughing in my face – players, Daniel and Joe and asking me that question-Why do you support us? And I know they don’t care about me or any other supporter unless somehow something does not remind them they need us.
Well Man C are okay without much support obviously if you have the elements and winning who care for the fans of the game?
It’s all like the bible brothers and sisters – religion it’s believed to be a language virus.
F*ck you ENIC, f*ck you greedy comedian players I’m better off without you in my life
