“Very Spurs type move” – Journalist backs Premier League star with 10 goals to join Tottenham in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Leicester City’s star midfielder, James Maddison, has been a long-standing saga that has captured the attention of football fans.

Speculations regarding Maddison’s potential move to Spurs emerged last summer, but the club was reportedly discouraged by Leicester City’s hefty £60 million valuation.

Maddison has established himself as one of the league’s finest midfielders, consistently delivering top-level performances for several years.

Despite Leicester City’s underwhelming season, the attacking midfielder stood out, contributing ten goals and nine assists in the Premier League.

James Maddison’s contract expiry next summer has opened up an opportunity for Tottenham to secure his signature at a relatively lower cost.

However, they are not the only club vying for the midfielder’s services.

Newcastle United have displayed a strong interest in Maddison, making two bids for him last summer, with the final offer reaching £50 million.

But, Leicester City’s unwavering stance on their £60m valuation prevented any deal from materialising.

With Leicester City now relegated, Maddison is expected to make a move to a new club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arsenal have recently joined the race for his signature, according to reports from the The Mirror.

This development has added an interesting twist to the ongoing transfer saga, as London rivals Arsenal could potentially challenge Tottenham for Maddison’s services.

Football London journalist Tom Canton, however, believes that Maddison is more likely to end up at Spurs.

In an interview with The Gooner Talk YouTube channel, Canton stated:

“If I was to predict a move, it feels very Spurs-like to me that James Maddison would move.

It feels like a very Spurs-type move to go for Maddison once he is relegated with Leicester.”

Tottenham Hotspur, who have struggled in the absence of a creative attacking midfielder this season, view Maddison as the ideal signing to bolster their squad.

However, the club’s lack of Champions League football and ongoing internal issues may undermine their appeal to the talented midfielder, making Newcastle United and Arsenal more attractive potential destinations for Maddison.
