Vertonghen Just Months Away From Potential Exit

By The Boy -

My thanks to Lilywhite Rose for flagging another Levy ‘oversight’.

It had me double checking and sure enough, we have yet another of our very best players watching their contract being run down.

Jan Vertonghen is indeed out of contract next summer.

ENIC’s bravery appears to be the same as anyone who might have gun against their head; so Harry Kane was ring-fenced with a £200,000 a week deal just in case he had a stellar World Cup.

Everyone less at risk has been left swinging in the breeze.

While the new stadium build mounts a continued struggle against flood, fire (alarms) and pestilence (a bloke sky diving off the unfinished roof), the footballing side of the business has been left unattended.

Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen were touted as being in the frame for improved deals – nothing happened.

Toby Alderweireld has proved he’s every inch the formidable player he ever was – his contract is also frittering away.

Why aren’t all these matters attended to in advance, so that THFC control the story?

January will see the back pages churning out links in earnest, or will our illustrious leader take time out from making panicked calls to Milton Keynes and the Football Association, and run the football club for a few precious hours?
