Versatile defender advised to hold off on transfer and wait for possible Spurs move

PSV Eindhoven defender Olivier Boscagli has been encouraged to delay a potential transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion, as a move to Tottenham Hotspur could be in his future.

As reported by journalist Dennie van Laar and shared by PSV Fans, Boscagli, who is in the final year of his contract with the Dutch side, could draw interest from top clubs like Tottenham, Napoli, or Atlético Madrid next summer if he chooses to remain with PSV for now instead of pursuing a move to Brighton.

The journalist insisted that if he sees his contract out, clubs like Tottenham could look to sign him on a free. He said (quotes via PSV Fans):

“But he can also just wait, because you will soon be a free agent. Then you really laugh your head off. You can then sign for Napoli, Atlético Madrid or Spurs. I’m really convinced of that,” he said.

“If he stays fit now, he will sign with a big bag of signing money [signing on bonus] at a dream club next year with a smile. I wouldn’t go completely crazy about Brighton.”

Though Tottenham has yet to express concrete interest in Boscagli, a move to North London remains a possibility for next year.

The 26-year-old French defender, who joined PSV from OGC Nice in 2019 for a relatively low fee of €2 million, has since become a key player for the Dutch club. His current market value of €27 million underscores his importance and development during his time at Eredivisie.

Boscagli is primarily a centre-back but is also capable of playing as a left-back, adding to his versatility. Last season, he was a mainstay in PSV’s defence, featuring in 47 matches across all competitions and contributing three goals and four assists. (Transfermarkt)

As the transfer deadline looms, Boscagli faces a crucial decision. He can choose to remain with PSV, where he could attract more high-profile interest in the coming months, or pursue an immediate move to Brighton.

For Spurs, signing Boscagli could provide crucial defensive strength and flexibility, making him a valuable potential addition to the squad.
