Having A VARgh: Harry Kane, James Ward-Prowse and Bruno Fernandes Incidents All Bungled|videos

VAR from good. Bruno Fernandes at it again for Manchester United, this time more gamesmanship than actual cheating, but watching the replay even just the once is enough to identify that the incident is not a penalty.

This Ward-Prowse fiasco beggars belief however, it looks theatrical at first glance, and again, one quick review of the tape would confirm it to most right-minded people, surely?

Finally, our man Kane being impacted from behind in the penalty box. I admit that this one is less immediately obvious, but once the replay is views, it becomes apparent that Harry couldn’t stay on his feet, so it’s a penalty.

As we’ve been saying since VAR was brought in, the technology is great, but those operating it are not. Obviously the entire VAR process is overcomplicated and needs a level head to look at it, to ensure that the system is fit for purpose.
