Spurs’ fan favourite Oliver Holt believes that Spurs were doomed the moment José Mourinho took over the hot seat at Hotspur Way. Well, he won’t win any special awards for that. There were arguably more voices of doom and gloom as much of the footballing world saw the Portuguese’s appointment as an opportunity to have a pop at him.
What strikes me as so cheap is this prevailing trend of completely dismissing the trophies José won at Manchester United. If you ask Mr. Woodward the impact on the club (which takes us back to the Forbes list again), then I think we would hear a different view.
