Two Medicals Took Place Yesterday Afternoon Says Report

By The Boy -

According to Spanish Agency EFE, Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilón undertook medicals at Valdebebas Park – the Real Madrid training park. Both players passed their tests.

The Daily Mail are screaming done deal in the headline of their lead sports article – with the small print referring to ‘a few minor contractual issues’, revealing that they didn’t know if it was done or not. Whereas The Sun found the EFE piece – which at least provides what looks like the truth.

Elsewhere, Dele Alli has been left in London, prompting exaggerated speculation about the boy’s days at Hotspur Way being numbered. It’s worth pointing out at this stage that Toby Alderweireld and six other players also didn’t board the plane.

I’d expect Tottenham not to announce anything until Jose Mourinho, Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilón are all assembled in the UK. This is a massive deal for world football, like when Ronaldo moves clubs, so do not expect some half hearted photo on the club’s Twitter feed for this one. This will be a major event.

Agreed. I think we will get a striker.

If we don’t get a second striker we could regret it. Would be such a shame if only one final part of the jigsaw was missing.

I think the6y should give Levy a medical too, something’s not right with him.

As long as Bale doesn’t start Dele off on his finger Olympics again! I think he finally grew out of that when he stopped scoring. If the arrival of a world class attacker in the same team doesn’t revitalise Dele then nothing will.

Maybe that’s been Real Madrids tactics all last season.

Lo Celso is the creative midfielder- they say Ndombele is too supposedly. My point is, we would all like another creative midfielder but if we get Bale, Reguillon and a striker to add to Doherty and Hoejberg that’s half a team!! We have to be realistic about how many players we can actually bring in..

I was happy we signed him along with N’dombele but have been disappointed so far,for a combined fee of near £96m .I expect them to make a huge improvement this season. His stats for shooting and crossing are both poor and without goals & assists I didn’t think he has done enough, let’s hope he gets the finger out soon.

Don’t you think Lo Celso needs a few seasons before you match him to Eriksen’ numbers.

Yes, Eriksen lost all interest in givin 100% for us so give Lo Celso time.

You see how well Eriksen is doing on Inter,

Most of them are attackers & wingers not central midfielders, playing in a team that lost its main goalscorers.

If you want to judge him already, fair enough.

If we have this chat at the end of the season you will see things a different way.

What about the absence of the missing jigsaw piece of a quality creative midfielder ala MODRIC prompting and probing weaving his magic?

I am wondering if Jose will change the system to accommodate two wing backs if/when Reguillon signs. He could pay three CBs with four in midfield. We need Lo Celso back and if we can sign a half decent striker too then we could be in really good shape.

Nobody has matched Eriksen’s contribution as a creative midfielder in spurs’ history. The numbers speak for themselves. He tailed off but was still contributing more assists than all but a handful in the league. There are no grounds to suggest lo celso is the new eriksen. Doesnt mean ges not z good player, just unlikely to be the best creative talent in the club’s history.

Willian,Coutinho,Fernandinho,Poyet,Suarez,Augero,Mascherano, Tevez,Sanchez,Juninho,Oscar,Valencia ,I think they all played better at their respective clubs in the first season.Gazzaniga,Foyth,Lamela and Poch were all fellow countrymen and should have made him feel more at home.

Jurgen was the last one of this stature to arrive. Would he have conducted himself in the way Bale has in the last few years? Who knows. Can well imagine the reaction if Dele did similar.

Let’s hope so.

& probably Klinsmann
……who also came for a season, & what a season it was

Obviously signing Bale comes with a health warning but he’s going to be great for the dressing room. When was the last time we had such a decorated player at Spurs, a player who has won it all. Dele is going to see first-hand how a real winner should conduct himself. Will the penny drop?

How man foreigners do you know that come from South America & hit the ground running, give the guy a chance.

Like to see you so live in Argentina & produce straight away.

I’ll give you a few years to learn Spanish then see if life is not alittle easier for you

He’s played so many long balls over the top just before the assist, he’s turned in tight spaces many times & run with the ball at pace [with an injury], he’s made tackles much more that Eriksen used to, apart from goal & crosses he’s been an upgrade on Eriksen, but they will come in time

28 games PL no goals ,2 assists, what is his role? for someone who didn’t miss many games. Dele gets abuse but still returned 8 goals & 4 assists

That’s unfair, he’s missed hardly any games.
& put in consistent performances, but I see your joke if it was meant as one.

That’s a nice change, RM benefiting us for once.
I have a feeling in two years he may love it so much he may not want to go back.

He arrived with an injury and started this season with another injury I think he might be the new Lamela.

You have to remember he was injured most of the games he played for us & still put in brilliant performances so let him get 100% fit them judge him this season.

In the 8th ep. of all or nothing you can see them [Jose & assist in Portuguese] talking about how he’s been injured but still plays at a high level.

Definitely a diamond Poch has left us with, you’ll see.

marcelo’s contract at real has 2 years remaining I believe so the 2 year buy back makes sense.
it does seem real can’t afford superstar wages sitting on the bench anymore

From what I’ve read in articles Sergio is ready to play on Sunday, has permit & I’m sure Jose will want to throw him straight in.

Bale is 4 weeks away from full fitness so they say he may be ready for West Ham.

From what I saw of Doherty on Sund. he’s gonna make a massive difference to our play & attacks on that side, he made so many clever touches & he’s 1st thought is forward.
Was so unlucky not to score in 1st few mins.

Sergio on the other side seems the same, when you get voted in La Liga team of the year ahead of Real & Barca’ LB makes you wonder what RM are doing.
Atleast we’ll have him for 2 years atleast.

We are getting our defence back to what it was 4/5 years ago, but even better I think.
Walker & Rose didnt get as many goals/assists as these 2 will.

Also don’t forget, Bale’ crossing.
We could be dangerous this season.

After lockdown I really saw an improvement in us not losing games & having improved our understanding of what Jose wants, so to me the Everton defeat means nothing over a whole season.
COYS!!!

I’ll still only believe it’s true when I see them all at the shopping centre holding the shirts and grinning stupidly.

Even if Real are paying half of Bale’s wages, that still leaves us on the hook for £300k a week which would give Levy a heart attack ..

I would doubt VdV had a medical in london for that deal?
Have also heard of others while on international duty in past so guess not
