Two European clubs keen on Tottenham player with 17 goals last season

Troy Parrott’s impressive performances while on loan at Excelsior have resulted in interest from FC Utrecht and AZ Alkmaar.

Parrott’s time at Tottenham Hotspur could come to an end soon as there is a lot of interest in his services following an impressive loan spell at Excelsior. The Irish international has put himself on the radar of FC Utrecht and AZ Alkmaar on the back of his heroics in the Eredivisie according to journalist Nicky van der Gijp.

He said via Football Transfers: “Troy Parrott really had great play-offs. He scored so many goals. That did not go unnoticed. AZ and Utrecht are interested in him.”

Parrott hasn’t been able to break into Spurs’ first team. He has spent the last few seasons out on loan at MK Dons, Preston and Excelsior. During his time at the Dutch club last season, the 22-year-old striker contributed with 17 goals and five assists in his 32 outings.

He might have failed to keep them in the Dutch top flight but Parrott was in impressive form during the play-offs and he scored seven goals in his four outings. His incredible run hasn’t gone unnoticed as he finds himself on the wishlist of FC Utrecht and AZ Alkmaar.

The Utrecht-based club want to sign Sam Lammers who joined them on a short loan from Rangers but the economic side of the transfer is beyond their capabilities. As a result, they are looking at Parrott as an ideal candidate to lead their line next season.

Vangelis Pavlidis’ future at AZ is uncertain and even they feel the Irish international could be a great acquisition for them. While he still has a year left on his deal at Spurs, Parrott doesn’t have a future at the North London club and could push for a move away in the summer.
