Trusted journalist claims Spurs ‘will make a bid’ for 25-year-old – player is ‘keen on the move’

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly showing strong interest in signing Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

A previous report from Football London claimed that the North London club has been closely monitoring the 6 feet 5 centre-back for some time, and according to Tottenham expert Alasdair Gold, the player himself is keen on a move to Spurs.

He reported:

“Understand there is a growing expectation Spurs will make a bid for Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo as one CB arrival.

The 25-year-old is believed to be keen on the move and Spurs have shown a lot of interest in him. Again, they can’t hang around though.”

With Adarabioyo’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, talks over a new contract with Fulham have collapsed, opening up the possibility of a transfer.

Tottenham are looking to bolster their defensive options and have identified Adarabioyo as a potential solution.

The club’s defensive struggles last season, conceding 63 goals, have highlighted the need for reinforcements.

World Cup winning Cristian Romero is currently their only top-class defender. Postecoglou will hope to partner him with another top-tier centre-back who would suit his playing style.

Tottenham also intends to sell players like Eric Dier, Joe Rodon, and Davinson Sanchez.

While other defensive targets like Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven may come at a higher cost, Adarabioyo could offer a more affordable option but will not necessarily be the only defender they will be after.

Additionally, signing him would help Tottenham meet their quota for homegrown players.

As the transfer window progresses, there is a growing expectation that Tottenham will make a bid for Adarabioyo in their efforts to solidify their defense and build a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
