Transfer insider Dean Jones has urged Kane to consider his future at the club, suggesting that he needs to “seriously contemplate” whether Tottenham are capable of reaching the level that he hopes they are.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones also expressed his concerns about the club’s lack of consistency, saying:
“Before he signs a new contract, I think he has to seriously contemplate whether Tottenham are ever going to be capable of getting to the level that he hopes they are.
“No matter what they do, there’s no plan that follows it up. They go and beat Manchester City, which is one of the biggest results they’re going to get all season, and a week later they lose 4-1 to Leicester. There’s no explaining that and the performances were so far apart.
“They had a lot of bad news in between with injury news and Conte has had his own problems, but there are a lot of underlying issues here.”
Despite the concerns raised by Jones, it seems that Tottenham is determined to hold on to their star striker, and they will likely do everything they can to convince him to sign a new contract. Kane is a key player for the club, and losing him would be a significant blow.
