Tottenham youngster expected to leave the club in January

Tottenham midfielder Alfie Devine is expected to leave the club when the transfer window opens in January.

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham are looking to loan the player out to a Championship club so that he can gain regular playing time during the second half of the season.

The Premier League club believe that the 18-year-old is too good for their youth teams, and he needs to play first-team football at another club.

Devine is unlikely to get regular first-team opportunities at Tottenham and therefore it makes sense for him to go out on loan and continue his development with regular football at another club.

The 18-year-old is highly rated at the London club and he has a big future ahead of him.

If he manages to impress during his loan spell, he could come back to Tottenham and forces his way into Antonio Conte’s first-team plans next season.

The player was handed his Spurs debut back in January 2021, but he has found it difficult to force his way into the first team ever since.

There is no doubt that Devine has the potential to develop into a first-team player for Tottenham, but he needs to develop further in order for that to happen.

A loan move seems ideal for all parties right now and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
