Tottenham Hotspur are looking to make their move for the Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte earlier this week.

It appears that the London club are serious about signing the player and a report from Fichajes claims that they are now prepared to submit an important offer to sign the 21-year-old midfielder.

Apparently, club director Fabio Paratici admires the Sporting Lisbon midfielder and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get a deal over the line next month.

It is no surprise that Tottenham want to sign the player and they will need to add more depth to their midfield. Ugarte could prove to be a quality addition. The midfielder is reportedly valued at €18 million and a club with Tottenham’s resources should be able to afford him with ease.

The Londoners are currently fighting for a place in the Champions League next season and they will need to reinforce their squad during the January transfer window in order to secure a top-four finish.

Ugarte will add creativity, work rate, and defensive cover to Antonio Conte’s midfield. Furthermore, the youngster has immense potential and he could prove to be a solid long-term investment for the London club.

Tottenham will have watched him closely when the player impressed against them in the UEFA Champions League group stages earlier this season.

The opportunity to join the London club could be an exciting option for the player and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
