Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Sporting Lisbon duo Pedro Porro and Marcus Edwards.
According to reports from Portugal (h/t SportWitness), the two players are set to cost around €75 million but the London club are prepared to offer around €70 million for them. It seems that the two clubs are €5 million apart in valuations and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get the deal done in the upcoming windows.
Apparently, the 23-year-old defender Pedro Porro has a release clause of around €45 million and Tottenham will have to pay that in full if they want to secure the Spaniard’s services this month.
On the other hand, Marcus Edwards has a release clause of around €60 million. However, the London side have a 50% discount clause which will allow them to sign the player for €30 million.
Both players have impressed against Tottenham in the Champions League earlier this season and they could prove to be quality long-term acquisitions for the Premier League club.
Antonio Conte needs to bring in a quality right back who will be an upgrade on the likes of Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal. Both Tottenham defenders have been unconvincing this season and Spurs need to improve that area of their squad. Porro is a reliable defender and he is equally good going forward. The Spaniard has 10 assists to his name this season.
Meanwhile, they could use a creative midfielder as well and Edwards would add creativity and vision in the final third. He will be hoping to prove himself at his boyhood club if the transfer goes through.
