Tottenham will play hardball over potential Spain move for midfielder

Valencia remains interested in loaning Harry Winks, but a move is unlikely to happen because the Spaniards are in a tough financial situation and Spurs will expect to receive a loan fee for the England midfielder.

Moving to Spain will give Winks the opportunity to play regularly as he eyes a place in the England squad for the Euros this year.

Valencia has emerged as one team that is willing to offer him that playing time for the next six months, but Spurs aren’t willing to do them a favour.

AS says that the Lilywhites are open to allowing Winks to leave this month, but they want a loan fee in addition to the Spanish side paying all his wages.

This is something that Los Che is struggling to do because they are already in financial turmoil that has seen them sell off some of their top players.

They have offloaded Dani Parejo, Francis Coquelin, among others, and this has left a huge hole in their midfield.

Winks could plug that for the next six months, but Spurs would have to reconsider their stance for that to happen.

Daniel Levy has shown that he is the king of the transfer market when it comes to negotiations, and he will probably maintain his position on the midfielder and wait for the Spaniards to give in.
