Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on the Polish midfielder Sebastian Szymanski.
A report from Star Gazetesi claims that Tottenham have been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old midfielder for a while and they scouted him in action for Fenerbahce on Sunday.
The report further states that Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is very keen on signing the midfielder who has picked up 12 goals and 14 assists across all competitions this season.
The Premier League club ‘will do everything possible’ to sign the player in the coming months and they will have to pay €35 million for him.
The talented attacking midfielder would be a quality long-term investment for them and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get the deal done.
It will be interesting to see if the Polish midfielder can establish himself as a regular starter for Tottenham. He plays in a similar role to that of James Maddison, who has been an indispensable asset for the north London club. In addition to that, the England international is the vice captain and he is unlikely to be dropped in favour of a new signing.
If Tottenham are paying €35 million for Szymanski, they will want him to play regularly. It will be interesting to see how Postecoglou accommodates both midfielders in his starting lineup.
The 24-year-old will not want to sit on the bench at a big club and he needs to play regularly at this stage of his career. He must seek game time assurances before completing any move.
