Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper is currently on loan at La Liga club Real Valladolid and his performances have attracted the attention of the North London club. However, they are not the only Premier League side keen on the player. Chelsea are hoping to secure his signature as well.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham are ‘willing to compete’ with Chelsea in a race to sign the 22-year-old arse goalkeeper. Hein does not have a future future at Arsenal and the Gunners are prepared to sell him for a fee of around €15-20 million.

It is a reasonable fee to pay for a player of his potential and the signing could prove to be a bargain in the long term. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can secure an agreement with Arsenal for his signature. They could certainly use more depth in the goalkeeping department and Hein could compete with Guglielmo Vicario for the starting spot.

Similarly, Chelsea could use an alternative to Robert Sanchez, who has been quite mediocre since joining the club. The Spanish goalkeeper has been linked with an exit from Chelsea for months, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to replace him with the Arsenal goalkeeper.

Hein is highly rated across Europe and he has impressed in the Spanish league this season. He will want to play regularly at a high level and leaving Arsenal permanently to join Tottenham or Chelsea would be ideal for him.

If the two London clubs can provide him with gametime assurances, the 22-year-old will be attracted to the idea of joining them next season. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
