17 goals in 23 games: Tottenham to compete with rivals for 23-year-old utility man

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the move for Union SG forward Mohamed Amoura.

The 23-year-old Algerian is capable of operating as a winger as well as a striker. He could prove to be the ideal acquisition for Tottenham, who prefer versatile forwards.

Amoura has 17 goals in 23 league games for Union SG and he is a target for West Ham and Wolves as well. All three Premier League clubs have checked him out this season according to Give Me Sport. It will be interesting to see if Spurs follow up on the interest with an official proposal to sign the player.

Spurs need more depth in the front three and Amoura is versatile after slotting into multiple roles. He will add goals and creativity to the side. He has six assists in all competitions as well. Amoura has found the back of the net 22 times in all competitions.

The Algerian seems to have outgrown the Belgian league and he could be keen on making a step up in his career. A move to the Premier League can be quite attractive for most players, and it would give him the platform to test himself against the best defenders in the world. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him improve further.

Tottenham need a forward like Mohamed Amoura

It will be interesting to see if Spurs can secure an agreement with his club in the summer. They have been overly dependent on Son Heung-min for goals this season and they need more options, especially if they make it to the Champions League.

Amoura will be tempted to join a big club like Tottenham and he will look to make his mark in England with them. He has the technical attributes to do well in the Premier League and his style of play should be a good fit for Spurs as well.

That said, his arrival would probably end any chances of the club signing Timo Werner permanently.
