Tottenham plotting summer move for 23-year-old South American ace

Tottenham Hotspur have been closely monitoring Colombian shot-stopper Kevin Mier.

According to Zócalo Saltillo via SportWitness, the North London club will push for his services in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mier came up the ranks at Atlético Nacional and made quite a name for himself. He got promoted to their first team back in 2019 and post that had multiple loan spells elsewhere before joining Cruz Azul at the start of the year.

The Mexican club forked out €3.2 million to land him at the club. Since joining them, he has featured in 12 matches and has kept a clean sheet on five occasions. He has had an impressive rise and his recent performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.

While his contract with the Mexican club runs until the end of 2028, they are ready to sanction his departure just months after signing him if an attractive offer arrives.

Brighton want to sign Kevin Mier as well

Brighton are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. The Seagulls haven’t placed a formal offer yet but have initiated talks. But, they will have to battle it out with Spurs who have been following him for a while now.

Tottenham signed Guglielmo Vicario to be their number one last summer and he is expected to continue in that role. But, they are looking at Mier as a backup for now and the 23-year-old could eventually challenge for a place in the starting XI.

With Brighton also keen on his signatures, the North London club will have to push hard to land him at the club.
