Tottenham join two Premier League clubs in the race for 23-year-old defender

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to reinforce their defence in the summer by signing Jacob Greaves.

Since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou at the club, Tottenham have already added two quality centre-backs to their squad. Micky van de Ven and Radu Drăgușin have joined the North London club over the last two transfer windows. Despite that, they are looking to add more depth and are interested in signing Jacob Greaves as per TEAMtalk.

The Australian manager is looking to make the necessary changes to help his side take the next step and compete for major titles. Spurs are expected to make some moves in the summer and signing a new centre-back is one of the priorities for them.

Tottenham have been liked with the 23-year-old Hull City centre-back who has been a consistent performer for them since breaking into their first team in the summer of 2020. He has featured in 42 Championship games this term and has been a standout performer for them.

Greaves’ impressive work has put him on the radar of multiple Premier League clubs. While his contract with the Tigers runs until the summer of 2026, he could be on the move in the summer.

Postecoglou feels signing another centre-back will give them the much-needed depth and quality to compete with the best teams. While Spurs are keen on his signature, other Premier League clubs such as West Ham and Everton are willing to challenge them.

Meanwhile, Hull City are aware of the fact that if they fail to win promotion to the English top flight, it will be very difficult for them to hold onto the 23-year-old star.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get the deal done.
