Tottenham eyeing ‘transfer coup’, could pay more than asking price for 13-goal star

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on acquiring the services of Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa.

But, they will have to battle it out with Inter Milan and to win the race for his services, the North London club are ready to pay more than the asking price and complete a ‘transfer coup’ as per InterLive.it.

Gudmundsson has been in sensational form since joining Genoa in the winter of 2022. The 26-year-old has attracted a lot of attention on the back of his impressive performances. In the ongoing season, the Iceland international has featured in 30 matches and has contributed with 13 goals and four assists.

His impressive performances have put him on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur who are looking for an attacking midfielder to provide support to James Maddison. The 26-year-old is also capable of featuring on the flanks which gives Ange Postecoglou multiple options to work with.

Gudmundsson is also on the radar of Inter Milan who are looking to sign him on a season-long loan with an option to buy worth €30 million. But, it seems they will suffer defeats at the hands of Spurs in the pursuit of his signatures.

Fabio Paratici who stepped down from his role at the North London club in 2023 after losing an appeal against his worldwide ban imposed by FIFA is still working in the shadows. Despite his ban, he remains influential and is ready to make a move on behalf of Tottenham. The 26-year-old is valued at €30-35 million and Spurs are ready to offer him €30 million plus another €10 million as bonuses to beat the competition for his signatures.
