Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat has been the talk of the town after his performances in the World Cup.
The 26-year-old midfielder helped his country reach the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022, where they were beaten by defending champions France.
Morocco managed to beat teams like Spain, Belgium, and Portugal on their way to the semis and Amrabat put on a splendid performance in all three games.
According to a report from La Repubblica, the player is being courted by a number of clubs but Tottenham are the most interested club in securing his services. Amrabat would be a superb signing for most Premier League teams and it remains to be seen whether Spurs can agree on a deal with Fiorentina.
Amrabat would add presence, power, drive, and defensive cover to Antonio Conte’s midfield. Spurs already have quality players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur at their disposal and the arrival of Amrabat would allow Conte to shuffle his pack without letting the standards drop.
The player is reportedly on the radar of Liverpool as well.
A move to the Premier League would be a step up in the player’s career and therefore he could be tempted to join Tottenham if a concrete offer is presented.
He would get to experience Champions League football with them and play alongside better players in England.
Amrabat has proven himself in Italy and this would be the right time for him to make a step up in his career. A move to Spurs could be the ideal next step for him.
