Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the Barcelona attacker Dani Rodriguez.
The 18-year-old is highly rated across Europe and he has a big future ahead of him. The player will be out of contract at the end of the season but Barcelona have an option to extend it. However, they are fearful of losing the player because of Tottenham’s interest.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Tottenham are ‘very interested’ in Rodriguez and they would be willing to offer him a more lucrative economic package compared to their rivals.
Estadio Deportivo also adds that Athletic Club Bilbao dreams of signing the talented young attacker, but the interest from Tottenham is a major concern. The Spanish club will not be able to compete with Tottenham financially. Tottenham recently beat Barcelona to the capture of talented midfielder Lucas Bergvall and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Rodriguez to join them as well.
Meanwhile, athletic club Bilbao are hoping to sign the best young talents around Europe and they are keeping tabs on a number of players – Adama Boiro and Igor Oyono. They have already secured the services of Alvaro Djalo. They are now hoping to bring Rodriguez back to Basque country.
It is evident that Tottenham are also putting together a formidable squad for the future and Rodriguez could develop into a key player for them with coaching and experience. The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be an exciting one for him, and if Tottenham can provide him with a clear pathway to the first team and give him game time assurances, the youngster is likely to consider a move.
