Tottenham urged to appoint former PL star as manager instead of Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte could be on his way out of the club when his contract expires in the summer.

The 53-year-old has not signed an extension with the London club yet and the recent performances suggest that it might be better for the two parties to go separate ways.

Tottenham are having an underwhelming season and an ambitious manager like Conte will want to manage a club capable of winning the major trophies.

The London club have been linked with a number of managers in recent weeks and popular presenter Richard Keys has now suggested that the club should look to appoint the former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany as their new manager.

The 36-year-old is currently managing championship club Burnley and he has got them playing exciting attacking football this season. The Clarets are currently on top of the Championship table and their 10 points clear of second-placed Sheffield United.

Burnley are one of the favourites to secure promotion back to the Premier League and Kompany has clearly done an admirable job at the Championship club.

Despite his lack of experience, Kompany comes across as a talented young manager and he could prove to be an exciting addition to Tottenham.

It remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy is willing to gamble on a talented young manager in the summer. Tottenham have been linked with former manager Mauricio Pochettino as well and the Argentine will probably be a safer choice compared to the Belgian.

Pochettino has managed the club before and he has a strong relationship with Levy. Furthermore, the Argentine is admired by the fans and a number of players at Tottenham.
