Tottenham tracking 23-goal Arsenal target who ‘looks sensational’

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to sign the Argentine striker Santiago Gimenez.

According to Graeme Bailey, Tottenham have been watching the 22-year-old Argentine striker in recent months and they could look to make a move for him in future.

“Santiago Gimenez looks sensational by the way, he looks so good. He looks amazing to me,” Bailey said on the Talking Transfers Podcast.

“Teams have been watching Feyenoord, of which there is a few, they are the best team in Holland, we know Arsenal and Tottenham have been watching Gimenez as of late.”

The 22-year-old has been outstanding for the Dutch outfit and he helped them win the league title last season. Gimenez scored 23 goals across all competitions for Feyenoord and he is certainly good enough to compete in the Premier League as well.

Tottenham sold Harry Kane during the summer transfer window and they are yet to replace him with a specialist striker. Richarlison was expected to step up and fill the void left by the England international, but the Brazilian international has not been at his best. He has struggled to find the back of the net consistently and Tottenham should look to invest in a quality striker.

Gimenez is certainly a talented young striker with immense potential and he could develop into a quality player for the north London club. Working under Ange Postecoglou could help him develop further and fulfil his tremendous potential.

Tottenham have employed a free-flowing attacking brand of football under their new manager and their current style of play should be a good fit for the Argentine as well.

Spurs already have a top-class creator in James Maddison and Gimenez could thrive alongside him and Son Heung-min.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been tracking the striker as well and it remains to be seen whether Spurs can fend off the competition from their bitter rivals and sign the 22-year-old.

Arsenal could use more depth in the attacking department as well, especially with Gabriel Jesus struggling to score goals consistently. Gimenez could be a more prolific option for the Gunners in the attack.
