Tottenham told Atletico Madrid are now willing to sell star player Antonio Conte has been long interested in

Tottenham have a golden opportunity to sign long-term target Yannick Carrasco after the player and his club, Atletico Madrid, changed their stance ahead of the January transfer window.

Conte has long been interested in the Belgian, and he reportedly enquired for a possible deal over the summer.

But at that Atletico Madrid were not keen on selling him as he had been a key player for Diego Simeone.

However, it appears that the LA Liga giants have changed their minds about the 29-year-old.

According to Marca (via Team Talk), they are now willing to sell the winger in January if the price is right.

Carrasco has lost his starting spot under Simeone. And, with his current contract set to expire in 2024, the club may decide to cash in on him.

The report claims that Atletico will ‘explore’ options for selling Carrasco in the January window. They also hope that Carrasco’s previous suitors, Tottenham Hotspur, will come calling again.

He has a £51 million release clause in his contract, but Atletico are reportedly open to selling him for less than half that amount.

The player had previously said no to any approaches but according to AS, a new Spurs approach may change his mind.

According to Sport Witness (via Team Talk) , the ‘scenario has changed’ and any offer from Tottenham ‘would now be more affirmative’.

Carrasco is dissatisfied with his current position at Wanda Metropolitano. And he reportedly accepts that his next move will be his last major contract.
