Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a surprise move for the Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.
The 23-year-old has been a major flop at Old Trafford since his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund. While the player has shown some signs of improvement under Erik ten Hag this season, he is yet to justify his big-money move to England.
A report from Daily Star claims that Tottenham are now ready to test Manchester United’s resolve with a £50 million move for the player this summer. Apparently Manchester United could demand around £60 million to sell the player. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agreement.
It is no secret that Tottenham need to bring in attacking reinforcements and signing a winger would certainly improve them. However, Sancho has been a flop in the Premier League and signing him for £50 million would be a major gamble.
Although the newly appointed Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has a proven track record of improving players, the arrival of Sancho could be quite underwhelming for Tottenham fans.
Meanwhile, Tottenham need to improve the other areas of their squad as well and splashing £50 million on a winger seems quite unlikely.
That said, the 23-year-old Manchester United winger was widely regarded as a world-class talent during his time in Germany, and if he manages to regain that confidence and sharpness at Tottenham, he could transform them in the final third and help them improve massively.
