Tottenham to compete with Premier League rivals for 22-year-old Englishman

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has established himself as a promising young defender in the Premier League and his performances have left a number of clubs impressed.

According to a report from Footmercato, Tottenham and Manchester United are keen on the former Chelsea defender.

Guehi has a contract with Crystal Palace until the summer of 2026 and he is likely to cost a substantial amount of money this summer. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to break the bank for his services.

Tottenham will have to bring in a quality defensive partner for Cristian Romero. Guehi would help Spurs tighten up at the back and he could form a quality partnership with Romero for the foreseeable future.

The 22-year-old defender has proven himself at Selhurst Park, and he will be looking to take the next step in his development.

Joining a club like Tottenham could help him improve further. Playing alongside top-class players could accelerate his development.

Furthermore, Tottenham are far more ambitious club compare to Palace and they could help the 22-year-old compete for trophies next season.

Tottenham are currently without a permanent manager and it remains to be seen whether they are ready to pursue transfer targets before appointing a new manager.

Spurs sacked Antonio Conte earlier this season and they have put former midfielder Ryan Mason in charge on an interim basis.
