Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly one of the clubs keeping tabs on Isco Alarcon.

The former Real Madrid midfielder joined Sevilla at the start of the season but the departure of Julen Lopetegui and the arrival of Jorge Sampaoli in October has made life difficult for the 30-year-old.

Isco has now fallen out of favour with the newly appointed Sevilla manager and he has been linked with a move away from the Spanish club in January.

According to reports (h/t Fichajes), Tottenham are keen on signing the attacking midfielder and they will face competition from London rivals Arsenal.

Spurs could definitely use a quality playmaker and Isco could prove to be a smart acquisition for them. Although the Spaniard is in his 30s now, he can play at the highest level for a few seasons and he could add a new dimension to the Tottenham midfield.

Isco will add flair, agility, technicality, and vision in the final third. His arrival will help players like Son Heung-Min, Harry Kane, and Richarlison, who are intelligent with their movement and runs in behind. Isco has the ability to pick out the decisive passes in and around the opposition box and he will help Spurs unlock the deep defenses.

Meanwhile, Arsenal could use a creator like him as well to add more depth to their midfield. It will be interesting to see if the Premier League clubs can agree on a reasonable fee with the Spanish outfit in January.

Isco needs to join a club where he can play regularly and Spurs do not have a player like him in their ranks. On the other hand, Arsenal have Martin Odegaard starting for them in a similar role. A move to Antonio Conte’s side could be better suited for the experienced Spaniard.
