Tottenham target’s manager admits that they will listen to offers

Watford manager, Vladimir Ivic has admitted that his team will listen to offers for club captain and Tottenham target, Troy Deeney.

The Hornets were relegated from the Premier League in the last campaign. They will want to bounce back quickly, but they will have to deal with the loss of some of their players.

Deeney is already 32, but he has good Premier League experience and that is attractive to teams in the English top tier.

Tottenham wants to sign a new striker that will act as a backup to Harry Kane this season and Deeney has emerged as one of their targets.

Ivic, who has been tasked with getting the Hornets back into the Premier League was speaking on his captain’s future recently and he admitted that the club will discuss an offer for the Englishman if they receive any.

“Troy was out for the last two and a half weeks. He started pre-season with us but after a week he moved out,” Ivic said via Birmingham Mail.

“I hope that he will be with us in the next days. Exactly which day he will start, I need to speak with him and the medical staff. They will give me an exact day when he will be available to work with the team.

“You know how it is in football and how the market is; everything depends on the offer.

“We’ll listen to the player and follow the situation and we’ll take a decision if something happens.

“If something comes for him, we’ll discuss and see how is his situation, if he wants to stay, if he wants to move.

“In this situation every time, it’s very important, the answer of the player, because to keep someone if he doesn’t want to stay here, if he doesn’t want to be with us, it’s not good for me. If he wants to be here, that’s another thing.”

Spurs isn’t the only team looking to sign him with the report claiming that West Brom also wants him.
