Tottenham make surprise €30m bid for midfielder

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham have reportedly set their sights on Barcelona’s talented youngster, Pablo Torre.

According to reports from Catalonia’s news outlet E-Noticies, Spurs have tabled a substantial offer of €30 million to lure the 21-year-old Spaniard away from Camp Nou.

Torre, currently on loan at Girona in La Liga, has caught the attention of Tottenham’s hierarchy with his promising performances despite mostly featuring as a substitute.

In 22 league appearances and 3 Copa del Rey outings, he has showcased his footballing intelligence, contributing a goal and 2 assists.

Having emerged from Racing de Santander’s youth setup, Torre made the switch to Barcelona in 2022 for a fee of €5 million plus variables.

While he has shown glimpses of his talent in limited first-team opportunities for the Blaugranas, the club might be tempted to offload him to ease their financial woes.

Interest in Torre aligns with recent transfer strategy

Tottenham’s interest in Torre aligns with their recent focus on securing promising talents for the future, exemplified by signings like Ashley Phillips, Alejo Veliz, and Lucas Bergvall.

In addition to Torre, Spurs remain linked with Antonio Nusa, whom they nearly signed in January before Brentford intervened.

Despite the failed move due to a medical issue, Tottenham are reportedly keen on reigniting their pursuit of the winger in the upcoming summer transfer window.

As Tottenham continue to actively engage in the market, fans eagerly await further developments as the club looks to bolster its squad for the future under the guidance of manager Ange Postecoglou.
